Have you looked in the mirror recently and are not happy about what you see anymore? Or are you getting breathless if you’re running up the stairs and you want to do something about your fitness level at the moment? Whatever the reason may be, there are an array of causes that might lead you to achieve a higher level of fitness and health.
But how exactly do you do that? There are several programs on the market today that promise to help you achieve a better physique and a better health, but how effective are they? And is there another way to do it? In this article we are going to discuss how you can achieve a higher level of overall health without having to purchase expensive and unnecessary programs.
Have you ever tried a diet program or a fitness program and saw some results in the beginning, but then lost everything again and now feel that it was a waste of your efforts? Most people try to follow diets if they want to lose weight. And even though a diet can give you some guidelines regarding how to eat and what to eat, it will not tell you how to break through the psychological barriers that are keeping you from achieving your goal.
Let’s be honest here, if you would follow a program in detail, do you think you would achieve success? Of course you would! Unfortunately, that is not how it works. Most of the time, we start a diet program and everything is going well for maybe the first week, but the second week you’re starting to cheat. You feel so guilty about it, that you will simply stop the diet or fitness program altogether. This is a vicious circle that keeps repeating itself and it is not the way to achieve success.
If you really want to reach a better level of fitness and health, you need to take it step-by-step. First, write down your goals. What is it exactly that you want to achieve? Do you want to lose 20 pounds or have a more toned and a stronger body? Write down what you want to achieve and when you want to achieve it. Next, decide on how you are going to achieve it. Will you go to the fitness center and follow a Pilates class 3 times a week? Will you follow a low-carb diet or are you planning to lower your daily calorie intake to 1500 cal a day? Write down exactly what you want and how you’re going to do it. Now you have your exact goal in mind.
Now you’re going to take your goal and divide it into small steps. For example, if you want to reach a daily calorie intake of 1500 cal a day to lose weight, you first need to have a look at how many calories you are taking in at the moment. Let’s say you are at 2000 cal a day. For the first week, you only try to lower your calorie intake by 150 cal a day. This will make it much easier for you to achieve. Once you have achieved the first step, you can expect a feeling of accomplishment that will motivate you to take the next step.
